It is a spot for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and sacred to Tibetan Buddhists for
the Vajrayana practices of Padmasambhava and Mandarava, which are credited for the
lake’s creation. It is a shrine to Mandarava in cave above Lake Rewalsar.
