Dehnasar Lake

Dehnasar Lake :-photo

Dehnasar Lake is a high-altitude freshwater lake lying in the Kangra
District of Himachal Pradesh, India. This is a concurrent place
for Kullu, Kangra and Mandi. People gather here on the 20th
of Bhadrapada or Bhaado for the holy bath i.e. mainly during the last week of August
or first week of September. The lake is situated beside rocky cliffs at the top of the
mountain and derives its water from the melted snow. It lies frozen under a thick coat
of snow during winters. Dehnasar Lake is one of the highest lakes in Dhauladhar.
This lake is visited by devotees of the Lord Shiva to take a holy dip in the sacred
water for fulfillment of their desires. This pilgrimage comes after the Manimahesh
Yatra.
