
Beas Kund Lake
Beas Kund Lake :-
Beas Kund Lake is located at the Solang Valley of Manali, District Kullu in Himachal
Pradesh. It is the origin of the river Beas. Beas Kund is a historic place and it is
believed that Sage Vyas used to take his daily bath here. The Beas Kund is protected
by an igloo like stone structure and is considered a sacred place for Hindus. The site
attracts thousands of devotees every year. The current name Beas is formed from
Sage Vyas who is the author of Mahabharata. The ancient Indians called the Beas
River as Vipasa or Arjikia while the ancient Greeks called it as Hyphasis.

kurrooa) and Bankakiri (Podophyllum hexandrum) etc.
Animal and Bird species: Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Bharal or Blue Sheep,
Monal pheasant, Western Tragopan, Himalayan Griffon, Lammergeier, Golden Eagle,
Slaty-headed Parakeet, Great Himalayan Barbet, etc.
